    Oh, Deer!
Now I know I don't live in the city anymore.

My wife and I were looking out the office window, and we saw a deer (doe) approaching the flowers by the front porch (docile, huh?). Eventually, she moved to one of our other gardens. My wife sent me out to chase her away. When I went outside, she retreated back into the woods.

Meanwhile, our dog didn't notice anything.

    Looking (way) back

About ten years before she died, my grandmother (mom's mom) had compiled a lot of geneaological research on her side of the family for me.  A few days ago, on a whim, I googled one of her grandfathers. I was taken to RootsWeb, where I managed to find a posting of several of his siblings and ancestors she hadn't known about, as well as some dates she didn't know. It felt good to pick up where she left off (with the aid of the internet, to which she didn't have access).

Time capsule for an infrequent poster!
Wow! The last time I posted anything, it was 2004! Clearly, updating my blog as been on the front burner. Seeing my last entries dated 2004 has made me think of how different my life was back then. Since that time, several things have happened in my life:

--I have received at least twelve performances of my music.

--I have married a beautiful brunette.

--Because I married said beautiful brunette, I have moved from the NYC area to the country (a very garden-ish part of the Garden State).

--I have traded my job as a salesman for Barnes & Noble for a job as a, well, trader (of stocks and funds).

--With my wife, I have traveled to Hawaii and England (with a Mexico trip coming up soon).

All in all, it has been an eventful four years! We'll see what happens in the next four years...

M.E.A.N.Y. FEST has become one of the largest music festivals in NYC and is still growing every year. Last year, 228 bands performed in ten different NY venues. Over 10,000 people attended in 2003! Through audience balloting throughout the venues, finalists were chosen that later performed at CBGB on Dec 30th, 2003. We rang in the new year M.E.A.N.Y. FEST style! Chosen by an industry panel of judges, One Day Left took home the grand prize of 25 hours of recording time, a radio package from Notorious Radio, along with other great prizes. Judges included Will Pendarvis of K-Rock, Jonathan Clarke of Q-104.3 and Dean Cramer of KOAR.COM.
